Bloodstone
was originally formed in 1962 but became hitmakers in the USA when discovered
by producer, Mike Vernon, who recorded them in the UK. The group moved
to the Isley Brothers' T-Neck label in 1982, and immediately had a hit
with We go a long way back. Their pop success remained behind them but
Bloodstone continued to appear on the R & B charts until 1984, when they
disbanded. In 1996 however, they recorded a new album titled The ultimate
collection on I.T.P. records including re-recording of their hits along
with new material. Bandmember Willis Draffen sadly passed away February
8th, 2002.
