Central Line was one of the many British soul bands that rose to the surface of the music-industry during the early eighties. The band comprised of Linton Beckles on vocals, Camelle Hinds on bass, Lipson Francis on keyboards and Henry Defoe on guitar. The band, originally formed back in 1978, reached the No.14 position in the USA with their biggest commercial succes Walking on sunshine from the Breaking Point album. The follow-up album entitled Choice proved to be less of a commercial success but remains a 'must have' album among danceclassic collectors. The band also toured with Roy Ayers. Shortly after the release of the second album Central Line disbanded. In 1986 Camelle Hinds and Henry Defoe formed Hindsight which led to the release of three singles and an album. When Hindsight disbanded, Camelle went on as a solo artist releasing two album in 1996 and 1999.
