The Chi-Lites were formed in Chicago, 1960 and originally called themselves the Hi-Lites, the group featured: Eugene Record, Robert Lester, Creadel Jones (who left the band in 1973) and Marshall Thompson. Among danceclassic lovers the title track of Bottoms up became a Top 10 soul single but further releases from the album failed to sustain that success. With the catching Stop what you're doin'- track from 1984 they really scored a what would later become a rare collectors track. The band continued touring during the 90's.
