Following the split-up of a band called Breakwater, Kae Williams moved to New York and took up session work from which Rescue me by Sybil Thomas was one of his early projects. In 1981 he joined Timmy Allen from Change and along with other top session players (even Luther Vandross did some of the background vocals) they recorded an album under the name of Hi-Gloss. After this one album project Kae Williams went on to work with the B,B & Q Band, Mason, Ian Foster, Phyllis Hyman, George Howard and Curtis Hairston.
